According to WHO, in the year 2017, 300 million people around the world have been diagnosed with depression. Of those 300 million, there is a growing rise in children and young adults with depression diagnoses. Although science and studies have not pinpointed the exact cause of depression, studies have shown a correlation between brainstem and upper cervical spine involvement in mood related disorders.

Now, what does this have to do with NUCCA?

NUCCA is a very gentle, specific chiropractic technique that focuses on the upper cervical spine, specifically the very top bone in the neck, C1, otherwise known as the atlas bone. When the atlas is out of alignment or subluxated, it puts direct pressure on the brainstem. This in turn disrupts brain-body connections and puts pressure on the nervous system.

NUCCA utilizes a thorough examination process and specific x-rays to determine and correct the position of the C1 vertebra. By doing so, this will alleviate pressure on the brainstem, restore nerve function, and regain connection to vital organs. This regained connection has shown to improve both mental and physical symptomatology including depression and anxiety.

If you or someone you know is suffering from depression or anxiety, NUCCA may be right for you!
